No More ‘Fro?!

Maryland Head Football Coach Ralph Friedgen made a seemingly unpopular decision today to start Jordan Steffy at quarterback over Chris Turner. Steffy was the opening day starter last season but was injured midway through the year. Chris Turner took over and looked spectacular at times, but his inconsistency in both games and practice ultimately lead to The Fridge’s decision.

Last season for Terps Football proved to be an up and down roller coaster ride. At times the team looked like a contender with impressive victories over #10 Rutgers and #8 Boston College and at other times a pretender losing to North Carolina and Virginia. By crushing N.C state in the last game of the regular season the Terps were able to finish off the year at 6-6 and advance to the Emerald Nut Bowl. That’s right freakin’ Nuts. Friedgen started off his Maryland head coaching career playing for the Orange Bowl trophy in 2001 and now we are at the Nut Bowl. This team, this University, and this state deserve better.
