Beast n. slang.
a person who is very good at something
He’s an absolute beast when it comes to football.
v: to completely dominate, usually in a very physical and violent manner
Clinton Portis was beasting out against Philly

Clinton Portis was the target of much of my venom earlier in the year. Not only did he call out his offensive line just days after a season opening loss to the Giants but he fantasized of playing with his old squad, The Denver Broncos. For these remarks he earned Herb of the Week honors. What a difference a month makes.

Beast of the Week: Kevin Barnes

Jahvid Best got beasted by Kevin Barnes

All we heard about leading up to last week’s Maryland v Cal game was how Cal’s Jahvid Best was the second coming of Reggie Bush. Either Best isn’t quite all that or the Terps defense is unbelievable because they held Best to only 25 yards rushing. To add injury to insult Best was lit up by Terps CB Kevin Barnes in one of the biggest college football hits this year. The video has already become a Youtube favorite but for those of you who missed it, here it is:

P.S: Best actually pulled an exorcist after this hit spewing some nasty green stuff while laying on the ground in pain. That’s just foul. This video omits said nastiness and instead plays some nice crunk rap in the background. Either way Best got jacked up and Barnes gets Beast of the Week honors.

Beast of the Week: “Huff Daddy”

by Rooster on September 10, 2008

Don’t you worry sports fans, herb of the week will be making a triumphant return in the next few days.  But right now I am in an optimistic mood so I have decided to praise one of DC’s, errrr……Baltimore’s own.  On Monday night Aubrey Huff went 3-5 and hit a grand slam to help secure a dominating win over the Cleveland Indians.  In his first game as a new father Huff couldn’t have scripted a better ending.   “I know they put a picture of him (Huff’s new son) up on the TV tonight.  I told the wife to TIVO it so he can have a good memory of that”, said Huff when asked about his grand slam performance coinciding with the birth of his son.
