The Writers:
The Rooster
Creator, Editor, and Writer for The DC Sports Pulse. I am 23 and am a graduate of Georgetown Prep high school and The University of Maryland. I have lived in Maryland my entire life and live and die with our local sports teams, especially The Redskins. I currently work as a Production Assistant for ESPN980. In my free time I enjoy reading, writing, watching and playing sports, and listening to music. My musical tastes are vast and range from Jeezy and Weezy to Joy Division and The Strokes.
Corey Bockhaus, a.k.a “Dr. Gonzo”
Writer for the DC Sports Pulse. I love to talk about, watch and cover sports. I’m a recent graduate of the fine Shepherd University in Shepherdstown, WV. While in attendance there, I perfected my craft of Sports Journalism writing for the Hagerstown Herald and the Shepherd University Picket. Journalism has always been in my blood, my late grandfather Evert Clark was a reporter for Time magazine, and published three books about the Corsican drug smuggling ring and the Contrabandistas.
For those who are unaware, soccer is my newest passion. I am enthralled with the beauty of the worlds game and love to blog about it every chance I get. The Wizards and Terps hoops are a close second for my unconventional sports love. Sorry all you NFL freaks, but football is in third place. When I’m not blogging, I free lance for the Frederick Gazette, Washingtonpost.com, and even serve tables at Dogfish Head Alehouse, come in the beer is great. In my spare time I love to do crossword puzzles, play pick up hoops, manage and play for a men’s adult soccer team, and most importantly listen to music. Music and writing have always been my crutches when life tried to handicap me.
It’s been a pleasure and an honor to start up this blog. I hope that what I write will inspire the casual sports fan to become more involved with the games they love.
That’s it and that’s all….
